Mailbox Monday

Welcome back IronBirds fans!  Thanks again to all of our fans for their support of the Bird Watch blog.  We had a record January and that is all because of our wonderful fans.  This is your blog IronBirds fans!  We thank each and every fan who has submitted questions for our Mailbox Monday, but we also want to know what you want to see on the blog this month!  If you have suggestions or any questions you would like to see answered, send us an email at blog@aberdeenironbirds.com.

Brian writes: “It was great have the #1 draft pick the past two seasons with Kevin Gausman and Hunter Harvey. Will we have the #1 draft pick again this season?”

IB: At this point we are not sure. The Orioles are going to make that decision.  There are a lot of factors that will come into play, one being the date at which  he signs. So, we will have to wait and see!

Chris asks: “How many of the Orioles’ top prospects played for the IronBirds?”

IB: Currently there are multiple former IronBirds on the Orioles Top 20 Prospects list. Right now, the top prospect is Kevin Gausman who played for the IronBirds in 2012.  Eduardo Rodriguez  is the #2 prospect and played in one game for the IronBirds in 2012.  He is followed by Hunter Harvey at #4 and Jonathan Schoop. Mike Wright  (2011) checks in at #6, Branden Kline (2012) at #7, Josh Hart (2013) at #11, Christian Walker (2012) at #12, Jason Gurka (2010) at #15, Tyler Wilson (2011) at #16, Glynn Davis (2011) at #18, Parker Bridwell (2010, 2011) at #19 and Lex Rutledge (2012) at #20.    Needless to say we have had a ton of talent come through Aberdeen over the past few seasons and we are hoping to see a few more former IronBirds wear the Orioles jersey this season! Kevin Gausman D5100 08-12-12 (57)

Thanks again to everyone that submitted questions over the past week.  Make sure to keep sending them over along with any things you want to see on the blog to blog@aberdeenironbirds. com.   Be sure to check back in on Thursday for more insider information!!

Until then…Go IronBirds!
